Tankless water heater

Tankless Water Heater Installation & Repair

Tankless water heater installation, repair, and a yearly flush and descaling, for gas, propane, and electric units.

A tankless water heater makes hot water as you use it, instead of storing it in a tank.

We install and repair gas, propane, and electric units, including Navien, and we flush and descale them once a year. Switching from a tank is work we do, and we size the new unit by how much hot water the home uses at once.

Signs you need a call

  • No hot water, or hot water that runs out during a shower
  • An error on the display, a new noise, or a unit that starts and then stops
  • It has been a year or more since the last flush and descaling
  • You have a tank water heater and want to ask about switching to tankless

Common tankless water heater problems we fix

Not sure which one you have? Call and describe it. We will help you figure out what to do next.

No hot water

A unit that will not start can have a fuel, power, flow, or ignition problem. If you smell gas from a gas or propane unit, leave the home and call 911 from outside.

Hot water runs out during a shower

A tankless unit that is too small for how much hot water the home uses at once, or a unit full of scale, can run out or shut off. We look at the home before we recommend a size.

Error code, noise, or a unit that shuts off

A new noise, a code on the display, or a unit that starts and then stops needs a look. Tell us the code if you can see one.

Time for a flush and descale

Tankless water heaters need a yearly flush and descaling. If it has been a year or more, or the water is not heating the way it used to, call us.

The unit is leaking

Shut off the water to the unit if you can do that safely, and call us. A water leak after hours is an emergency call.

Switching from a tank water heater

Replacing a tank with a tankless unit is work we do. We look at the space, whether the home is gas, propane, or electric, and how much hot water you use at once.

What to expect on a tankless water heater visit

  1. You call or request service online
Call 423-948-8016 (Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM) or send the request form. Tell us what the system is doing, any noises, smells or error codes, and roughly how old the equipment is.
  2. We line up your visit
We work to get a technician to you the same day when we can. Home Care 360 members go to the front of the line when the schedule fills up. After hours we take emergency calls for no heat, no cooling and water leaks.
  3. The technician finds the cause
The technician checks the tankless unit, the water flow, the power or fuel supply, and any error on the display to find out why the hot water is missing, running out, or shutting off.
  4. You get the options and a firm price
We explain what we found in plain language, give you a firm price, and you approve it before any work starts. The service call is $99 on weekdays and $149 after hours (waived if you buy the job). Home Care 360 members pay no weekday dispatch fee.
  5. We do the work
Once you approve, we make the repair or do the replacement you chose. If a repair does not make sense, we will say so.
  6. We clean up and check the result
Then we clean up and make sure you are comfortable with the result before we go.
